Whatever you’re going through, you don’t have to face it alone. Reach out, share your story, or just say hello. We’re always here to listen.
My Story
Hi, I’m Sam. For over 20 years, I’ve struggled with my mental health. I set up Don’t Hide because I know what it’s like to feel like you’re carrying it alone, and I didn’t want anyone else to have to.
Don’t Hide isn’t a company or a faceless organisation. It’s me, sharing my own story, along with the stories of others, in the hope it helps someone feel a little less alone.
Below, you can read more about my journey, what led me to set up Don’t Hide, and where it’s going.

Being Vulnerable, Intentionally
Dark clouds once formed over my head, for reasons unknown to me at the time – 2 decades later, they’re still lurking above – they simply won’t let me go.
Over the years, I’ve helped myself in various ways – blogging, abstaining from alcohol, therapy, modified my diet, meditated – and much more – it has made a difference, but the underlying fundamentals of sorrow still lie deep inside of me.
I’ve now learnt how to effectively manage thoughts and feelings or worry, deal with the sporadic internal panic moments, but most importantly, I’ve become extremely more insightful and aware of how mental health conducts itself.
At the end of 2025, I finally plucked up enough courage to setup DONTHIDE. Contained within the platform, not only will you find personal stories from my own life relating to mental health, you’ll also find my best words of wisdom, but more importantly, have and a place to visit in when your own dark clouds start to form.
The Community
There’s nothing stronger, when you’re in a real battle, than to count and rely on the supportiveness of others – fighting together is the best way forward; solidarity at it’s finest.
I’m taking the opportunity to talk about, discuss, and explore ways to overcome mental health challenges with my friends, family, and members of the community. Hopefully, one day this will span across the UK, and even reach the wider world.
My Vision
Looking ahead, if someone were ever to say, “Sam, DONTHIDE helped save my life”, that would be the greatest outcome I could ever hope for.
Mental health struggles can be soul-destroying. They can be mentally paralysing, emotionally exhausting, life-changing, and at times, relentless. The dark clouds can sometimes feel like they refuse to leave.
I have experienced some extremely dark days – days I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy, let alone my friends and loved ones.
I envisage DONTHIDE becoming a recognised name within the mental health community, and potentially beyond it.I will continue to put in the work because I thoroughly enjoy writing and sharing my thoughts. If it helps even one person feel less alone or more understood, then it’s worth it, 100%.
Show mental health that you aren’t going to give up.
