“We don’t have a choice to come into this world, but we have a choice of what we can do whilst we are here. So take a look in the mirror and tell yourself… you’re the fu*king man… or woman.”

No Purpose

I myself have struggled with mental health in the past. I was overweight growing up in my mid 20s. I battled and overcame drug addiction 3 times (in and out of psychiatric units). Depression was a big part of my life, feeling useless, feeling like I had no purpose and just not enjoying my daily habits.

I suppose the turning point was getting over drug withdrawals and using the 6-month gym membership my parents got me for Christmas one year.

The grind at the gym was my purpose and 6 months was the goal.

I dropped 5 stone in those 6 months and felt 100% better for it.

Believing in Yourself

Over the years my weight has fluctuated, but I’ve always maintained a healthy weight.

I’m now in the best shape I’ve ever been in, I’m in a band with 4 other musicians who take on regular gigs and have started my own clothing brand Forgotten Soul Clothing.

“Pebbles move mountains.”

The brand is doing well, the music is going good and the gym is what I can look forward to, it’s where I can let it all out.

I’m my biggest fan, and I believe everyone should believe in themselves

If I could give any advice to anyone who struggles with depression it would be: exercise (a little becomes a lot) – pebbles move mountains.

Finding the Enjoyment

Stay busy… this is the key, this is the purpose.

Find enjoyment in something.

Improve on yourself, help others, and build connections.

Block out negativity.. don’t listen to that inner voice – I can’t, I won’t, I haven’t… turn it into I can, I will, I have.

“… you’re the fu*king man… or woman.”

We don’t have a choice to come into this world, but we have a choice of what we can do whilst we are here.

So take a look in the mirror and tell yourself… you’re the fu*king man… or woman.

This is a bit about me, and with this, if it can help others, like when I needed it most, then so be it :)
