A Reflection
This is for anyone who feels like everything has fallen apart.
There are moments in life when everything that held us together stops working.
The masks fall.
The roles crumble.
The old strength gives way.
And suddenly we find ourselves in a kind of wilderness – a place we never planned to be.
At first, it feels like failure.
It feels like weakness or collapse.
But in truth, this is often the doorway to a deeper life.

The dark before the dawn
Some people go to retreats, monasteries, or far-off ashrams seeking silence.
Others, like me, are brought into silence because the noise can no longer carry us.
When the familiar structure collapses, it can feel like destruction – and it is.
But destruction is not the end of the story.
It is the clearing before the rebuilding.
It is the dark soil where new life begins to take shape.
I used to be someone who tried to outrun fear.
Every feeling of alarm meant I had to react, fix, achieve, or prove something.
I lived as though peace was something I had to earn.
But in the breaking, I discovered something else:
God does not meet us in the performance – he meets us in the surrender.
When everything went quiet, I expected to find emptiness.
Instead, I found Jesus – not in the dramatic ways I imagined, but in the ordinary, gentle ones:
in the breath,
in a moment of stillness,
in a feeling of presence,
in the soft whisper beneath the noise.
There are no ordinary moments when you are awake to God.
The quietest space becomes holy ground.
I used to think spirituality meant understanding more.
Now I see it means letting go more.
Letting go of who I thought I had to be.
Letting go of the fear that always warned me I wasn’t enough.
Letting go of the belief that I must control everything to be safe.
I am learning to live as the one God actually created – not the version I performed, but the person I find when I stop running.
This is what I want others to know:
Your breaking is not the end.
Your stillness is not failure.
God does His deepest work in the quiet season.
The season where the old self dies and the true self rises.
You don’t have to travel far, change your whole life, or become someone impressive.
You only have to become available.
The ministry I carry now is not a role, a title, or a task.
It is simply this:
showing up as the person God is forming in me, and walking alongside others as God forms them too.
If your world has gone quiet, if you feel undone or stripped back, know this:
You are not lost.
You are being met.
You are not failing.
You are being remade.
You are not alone.
You are being led home.
